It's good food with big portions at reasonable prices. We usually order egg rolls, BBQ pork, fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, and oyster beef. Never been disappointed. Just wish they would put lychee duck back on the menu.

This used to be our go-to Chinese restaurant back when we lived in Hoffman Estates. Now we're way out west and it's been ages since we've had Moon Garden. Unfortunately, over that time, the food quality has diminished. Still the same owner, but sadly, the food just didn't taste the same. We decided to take the 35 minute ride and get food to bring home. We got home and while our food was still hot, we were missing the sweet & sour sauce for our sweet & sour chicken. We got to eat plain fried chicken nuggets with no sauce. The crab rangoon were disappointing, and the egg rolls were NOTHING like they used to be. I will say that the special (or house, I forget their official name) fried rice is still decent. Sadly, we probably won't be back. Had the food still been exceptional, we'd make the trip out there to grab food. But now, it's not worth the hike.

To be honest, there was nothing to be impressed about. Everything we ordered was standard battered deep fried then sauced beyond recognition Americanized Chinese food. You'd think they'd make it up with proportions but nope, standard to small portions as well. With so many other great Chinese options in the area I can't fathom why anyone would even bother coming here unless they are nostalgically attached. Even carry-out is easily trumped by Fortune house a few miles away. Service was standard as well considering there was only 1 person waiting all the tables and taking phone orders by himself. People do NOT come here for the decor or atmosphere. The furniture is old and dingy and looks like it was installed during the Nixon administration. There's a lot of dust everywhere but the eating areas are kept fairly clean. in summary, the place doesn't suck but with so many options in the area I will not be coming back here.

I always do carry-out at this place and they're pretty good on the timing and the food is good.

Have to say I randomly suggest this restaurant to everyone because its so good. Been coming here since 1990's and haven't found a better one yet. Always ready quick, hot, and the crab ragoons are to die for!

the prices compared to the quantity is fantastic. i love their extra large fried rice! and their prices for it, amazing! the service is really nice, and the food comes out quite quickly!

I have Moon Garden stored in my cell phone for emergency dinners :) The guys who run the place are always very nice to me when I stop by to pick up lunch/dinner. I'm a big fan of the governor's chicken (General Tso's Chicken) and their crab rangoons are really good, too. They have cheap lunch specials daily (Wednesday's pork with garlic sauce is my fav) and my wife recommends the sweet and sour chicken. The takeout dinners from Moon Garden have HUGE portions - excellent for leftovers!
